Return to School Committee (RSC) Update: Travel Restrictions Changed
At this time, WSP has decided to lift our travel policy with the two exceptions.
On March 1, 2021 Gov. Wolf terminated his order on travel mitigation in PA. WSP understands the need for everyone to have a break at this time of year, particularly our employees who have held steady in their ability to pivot back and forth from in-person to distance learning without the ability to travel, take vacations, or even see loved ones. At this time, WSP has decided to lift our travel policy with the following exceptions:
If traveling to a state that no longer has a mask mandate, you must quarantine for 14 days prior to returning to campus.
If using mass transportation (bus, train, airplane), you must quarantine for 14 days prior to returning to campus.
Several independent schools in our area have chosen to move to distance learning for 1–2 weeks following their spring breaks. Instead of doing this, WSP is asking our community to continue to make responsible decisions that support everyone’s best interests. Our goal is to sustain on-campus learning through the end of the school year. While all of our employees have had the opportunity to get vaccinated, children are not yet able to be vaccinated. Please consider your actions and their effects on our community by following all health and safety protocols of handwashing, mask wearing, and social distancing over spring break.
If your family will be traveling and meets either or both of the exceptions stated above, please inform your teacher as soon as possible (preferably by Monday, March 22) if your child will need to quarantine following spring break.
