May Fair & Heartwood Annex Ribbon Cutting

A virtual and small in-person ribbon cutting ceremony for the Heartwood Annex, our eighth grade classroom, will kick off our 2021 May Fair festivities this year on Saturday, May 1. We broke ground for this special project in September 2019, but the pandemic halted its completion until October 2020. We are thrilled to be able to celebrate this milestone achievement with our community!

This year, May Fair will be held on Saturday, May 1 with sign-up times from from 11am–3:20pm at the school. It will be different than in years past, because not everyone can be on campus at the same time; however, we are pleased to invite all current and newly accepted families to participate if they wish.

Tickets will be sold in advance for a slightly lower price than in previous years.

All beloved May Fair activities will be held outside including the making of May crowns, fairy gardens, and—new this year—seed bomb making. Rain or shine, there will be music, games, a toy raffle, and outdoor play space for young children.

Some volunteers will be needed ahead of time and during the event, but many stations will be facilitated by employees with help from our Board of Trustees. Any remaining volunteer needs will be shared via a sign-up sheet to be circulated next week. In the meantime, we invite families to donate materials for the event if they are inspired to do so. Thank you to everyone who has already donated! The on-going wish list includes:

  • Fairy garden items: 6–8 inch saucers (plastic or terracotta), gems, trinkets, shells

  • Seed bomb materials: pottery clay mix (from art store), potting soil, seeds

  • Gently used Waldorf-inspired toys

  • Musical Instruments
