Happy Thanksgiving
A Letter from Our Head of School
Dear WSP Families,
During this time of giving thanks, we are grateful to and for every individual who makes up our extraordinary community. I am deeply aware and so thankful for how well we have worked together to accomplish so much already this year.
I encourage you to read the wonderfully written article by WSP parent, Dr. Kevin Baskin. Kevin offers valuable insights and wise safety tips for the upcoming holidays.
In preparing her lessons for this week, one of our teachers shared this quote with me about Indigenous People's perspectives on Thanksgiving:
“With one mind, we turn to honor and thank all the Food Plants we harvest from the garden. Since the beginning of time, the grains, vegetables, beans, and berries have helped the people survive. Many other living things draw strength from them, too. We gather all the Plant Foods together as one and send them a greeting of thanks.”
—Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address
May we draw strength and health from our harvest,
Kirsten Christopherson-Clark
Head of School
