Changes in Administration

We are just over halfway through the 2024–25 school year, so our preparations for next year begin. They will bring some changes in our Administrative Team.

Jen Widich will not be returning as our Front Office & Family Communication Manager. Jen’s family moved to Upper St. Clair last summer, and the commute as well as having her children in two different school districts has become a lot more challenging than originally anticipated. Jen has been in her role since August 2020. She started in her position during the pandemic, which necessitated her meeting our community online first. She has helped everyone who has come through our doors with her warm, welcoming presence, ensuring that students, families, and staff alike receive timely and accurate information. Jen has played a key role in helping us transition to Ravenna, our new student management system. Because of her care, children’s interest in visiting the office has most certainly increased over the years! Her ability to remain organized, calm, and positive in an active environment has been a gift to us all.

Dave Taylor, our Director of Finance & Business Operations, will be moving back to the East Coast with his wife, Jackie, at the end of this school year as his daughter is graduating from Pitt in June. WSP has benefited greatly from Dave’s expertise and 30+ years of experience in business and finance. Since September of 2023, he has helped to secure new financial policies in the business office, create budget projections for future planning, secured funding, and brought valuable perspective to decision making. Most importantly, he has ensured that WSP is in a financially sustainable position. We feel fortunate that Dave’s family brought him to Pittsburgh and look forward to seeing Dave at WSP when he is back in the ‘Burgh for a football, baseball, or basketball game!

Next year, Jenn Moore will return to WSP as a mom, but not as our Marketing and Communication Support. Jenn began her time with our admin team as a volunteer when she designed our website in 2019. Jenn helped us through the most challenging time of the pandemic as a graphic designer for our digital, print, and social media needs. She re-envisioned our weekly announcements and monthly newsletters. Jenn and her husband, Bill, created two promotional videos for the school. After 18 months of volunteering, Jenn was officially hired part-time in 2021 to do our marketing and communication support while also holding another full-time job. Among her many recent contributions, Jenn led an admissions process audit, so that this year we could start with a new admissions calendar. She also designed all new admissions materials for us this year and initiated our first official email marketing communications funnel. Jenn is always looking for new and interesting ways to showcase our school, to tell our story, and to spread the word about Waldorf education. She deserves a nice long rest and the ability to focus on just one job after all of the work she has accomplished for WSP!

We are grateful for the many meaningful contributions these administrative team members have offered WSP throughout these past 2–5 years. All members have agreed to support their successors to ensure smooth transitions for the 2025–26 school year.
