Artistic Work from 5th, 6th, and 8th Grade

We are proud to share some of our student's artistic work.

Each main lesson block in Waldorf Education contains an artistic component. From The Practical and Creative Art of Form Drawing by Beverly Amico:

The cognitive benefits of drawing are well proven and include improved memory retention and recall, neural plasticity, motor skill integration, and development of divergent thinking skills. Waldorf students often draw and illustrate as they create their main lesson books for each subject. Illustration plays an integral role in history and language arts as well as in math and science lessons.

Beautiful mushroom drawings by Grade Five as part of their botany studies.

Sixth Graders have been studying geology as they examine minerals, fossils and fossil fuels, and a rock formation of their choice.

Artistic work from Eighth Grade Meteorology main lesson block. Students study the water cycle and global rainfall patterns before turning their attention to some of the more dramatic aspects of weather such as tornadoes and hurricanes.
