This spring and summer have been the spring and summer for artists from the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh Community.
Ms. Jennifer Howison, of the Sundrop Kindergarten, held a solo show at the 707 Penn Gallery this spring entitled “Nesting” and was nominated for the Developing Artist award at the beginning of the summer. For more on Ms. Jennifer’s work visit La Vie or on Facebook
Ms. Deanna Mance, from our Extended Care Program, won the Emerging Artist Scholarship at the Three Rivers Arts Festival at the beginning of June. Her work features hand drawn geometric designs. For more on Ms. Deanna’s work visit her website and The Pittsburgh Visionary Arts Fesival.
And on the music front, both Ms. Liz Adams’, our choral teacher, band Lohio and Ms. Nicole Meyers’, our cello teacher, band Cello Fury performed at the Three Rivers Arts Festival at the beginning of June. Lohio “shifts between intimate, instrumentally rich folk songs and midwestern infused, Neil Young-esque indie rock.” according to Ms. Adams, while Cello Fury is “a rarity in the music world: three classically trained cellists and a rock drummer performing high-octane music in locales ranging from concert halls to biker bars.”
The school and the community congratulate you all on your outstanding achievements.
