This month the Waldorf School received official word that the school’s building complex and grounds have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register is the federal government’s official list of buildings and sites deemed worthy of preservation. Our school’s listing is based on the history of the building as the Ursuline Academy, a Catholic girls’ school that operated here from 1894-1981. The building still reflects this unique educational institution that specialized in a rigorous college prep curriculum with a strong emphasis on the arts.
