Winter Fair Volunteers Needed

Winter Fair excitement is starting to build, as our school’s annual celebration is less than two weeks away! Already, the enthusiasm, talent and giving spirit of the Waldorf community has made preparing for Winter Fair fun.

Here is an update on how you can help make our holiday festival a bright and magical day. Volunteering, baking treats and making garland are all great ways to earn volunteer hours.

If someone from every family could volunteer at Winter Fair, we’d have just about enough help!
Sign up for a shift by clicking here.
(This is a shared interactive Google Docs file, so please limit changes you make to writing your name next to shift times).
Please note there will be no paper sign-up sheet posted at the school this year.
Contact Morgan or Sarah with any questions.

Baking Treats
Help fill our Cafe with delicious goodies by making 2 dozen baked treats for the Winter Fair Bake Sale. Drop off your nut-free baked goods in the front office (or send them to school with your child) by Friday Nov. 30.
For families with special diet needs, gluten-free and dairy-free options (labeled) would be most appreciated!

Popcorn and Cranberry Garland
Help decorate by bringing in strings of popcorn and cranberries (leave garlands in the front office). For inspiration, look here.
Getting together a “stringing party” with class friends over Thanksgiving Break is a great way to do this–but be sure to pop extra corn for snacking!

In keeping with our beautiful school building, decorations and traditional crafts, any Victorian costumes or holiday clothes are welcomed and encouraged.
For ideas, think of Charles Dickens, and let your whimsy be your guide!

Please leave donations at the front office. We need the following items for food, crafts or decorating:
*Industrial-Sized (Extra-Large) stainless steel soup pots (Loan)
*Grocery Items for crafts: Applesauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, natural food coloring, natural flavorings (no nut flavors please), butter, corn syrup, wax paper, candy bags
*Decorative holiday plants (such as poinsettias, Christmas cactus, etc.)
*New or gently-used toys for the children’s raffle

Your help is what makes Winter Fair such a special day at Waldorf.

Thanks so much for your generosity, and looking forward to celebrating with you at Winter Fair,
Winter Fair Co-Chairs
Morgan Hunt and Sarah Bauer
