Pittsburgh is the setting for The Electric Baby. The mysterious, titular character is fragile, yet powerful. He exerts an influence on the Pittsburghers around him – and they are in need. And he glows like the moon. Natalia, his Romanian-born mother, and Ambimbola, his Nigerian-born father, are working fast to pour their strengths and stories into him, even as fateful events have separated the family.
New York Playwright Zadravec became familiar with our town and some of the most wonderful things it offers after her own, real-life baby became ill. The family was sent to our Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where their son receives ongoing treatment for his rare interstitial lung disease by Children’s Dr. Geoffrey Kurland.
Please note: though the play is meant to warm hearts and its subject is healing, it may not be suitable for young children. Please call Quantum at 412-362-1713 if you’d like to ask questions about its content.
