Soccer Club kicks off this spring

The Extended Care program proudly announces the formation of the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh’s first soccer club for Grades 3-6 as the first addition to the school’s after-school enrichment program.  For 10 sessions on Wednesdays beginning on March 21st through May 30th, children will have the opportunity to learn basic soccer skills, including dribbling, passing and shooting. The goal is to have fun, while being challenged out on the field.  Children will learn how to play on a team, how to communicate with others and how to work as a group to achieve a goal. Games will be played with students in the class. No outside games with other schools will be scheduled. All supplies will be provided by the school.

Soccer enthusiasts Jeffrey Dorsey (also a Waldorf parent) and James Hare (third grade teacher) will be the instructors for this club. The cost of the program is $65for 10 sessions; however, the club is free for children already enrolled in the 3-6 Extended Care Program for Wednesdays during March, April and May.
