Rose Ceremony

On the Grade’s students first day of school, Wednesday, September 1st, the tradition of the Rose Ceremony will be continued.  This is part of our opening assembly beginning at 9 am in the auditorium and is open to parents, community members and family.

All of the children will gather in the auditorium to hear from their teachers about what the year will hold, and after each teacher has spoken in front of the group, the First Grade teacher will tell a story.  Each First Grader is then given a rose by the oldest students in our school, the Fifth Graders, as a welcome into the Grade school.  This rite of passage is honored in most Waldorf Schools all over the globe.  We are welcome you to join us as we incorporate our new class of First Graders and their teacher, Miss Holtz, into the Grades.
