All Community Meeting

The Upper Grades Expansion Committee has been hard at work throughout the spring and summer.  The committee recently presented a draft implementation plan to the faculty, staff and Board of Trustees, and is now ready to present the expansion plan to the community.

Campus Wire

All families should have received a test message from CampusWire on Wednesday, September 29th. This service will be used in the future to contact families in the event that school has to be delayed or closed for weather or other reasons.   If you did not receive the message, please contact the school and have the Front Office Manager, Emily Hanser, verify the CampusWire contact information in your child’s student records.

Open House

The first Open House of the season is on Wednesday, October 6th at 6pm. This is an adult-only meeting for those interested in learning more about Waldorf Education.

Parent Mentors

The School is looking for parent mentors for the 2011-2012 school year. This enthusiastic group of people will have opportunities to occasionally tour prospective families throughout the school, talk with prospective parents who are interested in speaking with current families, as well as host the New Family picnic next August.

Games Night

Winter Fair Volunteer Opportunities

As many of you know, Winter Fair is the Parent Association’s biggest fundraiser of the year, an event where the bulk of the money is raised needed to fulfill our financial commitment to the school ($10k to the operating budget). Please contact Joanna Papa at  or Christina Frasher at for further information.

Martinmas Coat Drive

One volunteer (individual or family) is needed to run the Martinmas Coat/Blanket Drive, continuing our school’s tradition of community service.  If you would like to fulfill some of your volunteer hours in this way, please contact one of the Parent Association co-chairs, Ashley Comer or Veronica Harris

Bloomfield Halloween Parade

Every year the school participates in the Bloomfield Halloween Parade.  Parents and children march with the Waldorf banner and distribute treats to the children lining the route.

PA Hot Lunch

The next PA Hot Lunch will be Friday, October 15th.

Volunteer hours are available alternating Fridays for the PA hot lunch.  Please contact Ashley Comer at for information.

Forest Garden

Lifefactory beverage bottles are now available at the store.    New items from Sarah’s Silks and Ostheimer are coming very soon.  If there are any items from Sarah’s Silks, Ostheimer, Kinderkram or any of our regular vendors that you want and are not currently in the store, a special order can be made.  Please email Kristi Pickens at or Katt Ongkeko at with questions.

SunDrop Kindergarten

The SunDrop Kindergarten celebrated Michaelmas by encountering dragons (during story time), becoming knights (in circle), and making shooting star balls.
