School Nurse Visit

The School Nurse will be doing screenings in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades for those students whose parents have not opted out of routine screenings

Birthday Round-up

The school would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to everyone who celebrated their special day in November, December, and will be celebrating this January.

Grades Holiday Sing-Along

The Grades Holiday Sing-Along, held on Friday, December 17th, was a big hit again this year. Special thanks to Mr. Jesse for playing the piano and to Ms. Goodman for organizing and leading everyone in song.

Wedding Band Found

A titanium wedding band has been found on the school grounds. For more information regarding the ring please contact the Front Office at x0.


Change in School Calendar for Nursery and Kindergarten classes

Classes are cancelled on Friday, February 11 for the Nursery and Kindergarten classes to enable the teachers and assistants to attend the Waldorf Early Childhood Conference from February 11 -13.

With the new year come new main lessons in the grades. Everyone is excited about learning new subject matter as a fresh start to 2011.

The school is pleased to announce that Abigail Sanders has accepted the position of Extended Care Coordinator.  Ms. Abigail joins our staff with much experience and dedication to education, most recently working at CAPA. In addition to Ms. Abigail, the school would like to welcome back Ms. Whitney, who has graciously accepted the position as the new Coral Bell Kindergarten Assistant and Mr. Jesse who as decided to stay on, accepting Ms. Whitney’s former position as Extended Care Assistant.

Re-enrollment materials will be sent out on Friday, January 28th and the re-enrollment applications will need to be submitted back by February 28th.

Nursery Information Hour

All parents whose children will be attending Nursery next school year, are required to attend the Nursery Information Hour on February 5th at 9:00 am.

Open House
The next Open House is Saturday, February 5th at 10:00 am, immediately following Nursery Information Hour. Please let all friends and family you know who may be interested in attend our school next year.

Financial Aid Workshop
A Financial Aid Workshop is scheduled for 11:30 am on February 5th directly following the Open House.

Please contact Erin Commendatore if you are interested in becoming a mentor to a new family for the 2011-12 school year. A brief training will be provided in May.

Thursday tours

Tours are led every Thursday morning beginning at 8:45am.  Please let any prospective families know about these tours.

Enrollment Committee Book Club

The first book series discussion will be held on Tuesday, January 18th at the Wiegman-Bartlett house at 7pm. The book we will be discussing is Simplicity Parenting, by author Kim John Payne. Take some time this holiday break to get some reading done. Kim John Payne will also be speaking here in the spring.

Lost and Found

The Parent Association will be collecting the lost and found items on January 28th at 12:00 pm to donate to Goodwill. If you are missing an item, please  be sure to check the lost and found soon, otherwise it may be gone to a good cause.


As a reminder, parents looking to fulfill volunteer hours should visit the school website’s volunteer page at for current and upcoming volunteer opportunities at the school.

Annual Fund Drive

Since the Annual Fund Drive packets went out the end of October, the school has received $21,945.50 in donations. If you would like to make an additional donation or would like to ask friends or family to donate, additional pledge cards are located on the table in the Main Hallway, below the Giving Tree. Many thanks to everyone who has donated for their generosity.
