Michaelmas and Festival of Courage

On Friday, September 24th, the Grades will perform the St. George and the Dragon play at 11:45AM in auditorium – all parents are welcome to join the first grade to watch grades 2 – 5 perform the epic story of St George and the Dragon.

The All Grade School Picnic will be held from 12:00PM to 1:00PM in Front Yard – all parents and early childhood families are welcome to join the Grades Children eat a picnic lunch on the front yard.

The Festival of Courage will be held from 1:15PM to 2:45PM.  Parents are invited to watch the Grades Students as they participate in feats of courage to show their strength and determination just like St. George (parent volunteers are needed: please contact Anne Clair Goodman for information on how to help: acgoodman@waldorfpittsburgh.org)<p

The Annual All School Michaelmas Potluck Picnic at Hartwood Acres, will be held from 11:30AM to 3:00PM on Saturday September 25, 2010.

Bring a dish to share, blankets, and kites to join in the festivities and enjoy this harvest time picnic on the Hartwood Acres grounds close to the Mansion (see map link below).  Apple pressing will be available; participation requires a bag of apples and a container for the cider.  There will be four hay rides ($2 per rider donation requested) beginning at 12:30PM.

Potluck Assignments (please provide information about whether dishes have meat or dairy and if they are gluten free):

Side or Salad Dish: Last Names beginning A – F

Main Dish: Last Names beginning G – P

Desserts: Last Names beginning Q – Z

Flatware, napkins, and plates will not be provided;  families are expected to bring their own.
