Please join us this Saturday, May 4th, for our annual May Fair! This year will be a fairytale celebration, and we welcome you to dress as elves, gnomes, and fairies. Our many festivities will take place from 11am-4pm on our school grounds and in our main building located at 201 S. Winebiddle St., Pittsburgh, PA 15224. Admission is $5 per person with a $25 family cap. Children 3 years and younger are free. Admission includes 5 free tickets to be used for different activities. While some seating will be available, we encourage families to bring a blanket to sit on.
ENTRANCE FEE: $5 per person, with a $25 family cap. All children age three and under are free. Each paid entrance includes five tickets for children’s entertainment.
ENTERTAINMENT: In addition to the May Pole, we will have four wonderful crafts (gnomes, fairy tale mobiles, Ooblek and felted fireballs), games, face painting, hair braiding, a bounce house, a marionette performance, and demonstrations by the Allegheny County Mounted Police.
VOLUNTEER: We are still in need of volunteers to make the fair a success. If you haven’t already, please go to the May Fair online signup sheet. (First enter your name and email address in the blue shaded area; then check the time slot you want). All volunteer shifts are two hours. Lots of fun jobs are available. BAKED GOODS: Please drop off nut-free baked goods on Friday afternoon or Sat morning in the auditorium.
PICNIC LUNCH: Gourmet boxed lunches (chicken, vegetarian, allergy/gluten free) will be on sale. Please bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on outside and enjoy a wonderful picnic lunch. There will be limited seating inside.
AUCTION: Thanks for all of the donations! Please take a minute to peruse many of the exciting items up for auction (PDF here). Remember to bring your checkbooks; there are many fun items on which to bid!
DRESS-UP: The theme of this year’s May Fair is “Springtime Fairytale.” You are invited to dress up (ideas: gnome, fairy, elf, knight, royalty). Fairy wands and wings and prince crowns will be on sale for $2.50 each.
FLOWERS AND VEGETABLES: The Urban Gardener will be selling flowers and vegetables. WSP will receive 20% of proceeds.
PARKING: We have a “non-enforcement” variance for parking on S. Winebiddle Street, Coral Street, and S. Evaline Street between 10am – 5pm. These are the safe streets to park on Saturday. Up until 10:30 am on Saturday, you may enter the school parking lot; but please DO NOT PARK IN THE FACULTY PARKING. Volunteers may park in the gravel parking lot. Otherwise, please park on the street.
