As a daily toddler childcare program, the Little Friends program brings the insight and experience of Waldorf Education to the young child. Children are cared for in a mixed-age, family style setting. Daily activities focus on domestic activities such as washing, baking, crayoning, and storytelling with plenty of time for play, indoors as well as out. Unlike the pre-academic nature of the school’s Nursery and Kindergarten programs, the Little Friends program primarily emphasizes care in a nurturing environment away from home. This is a program for children ages 18 months – 4 years. Little Friends runs on a contracted schedule of three sessions: Fall/Winter, Spring, and Summer. The following options are available during the school year:
- Mon-Fri, 8:00am-3:00pm
- Mon-Fri, 8:00am-6:00pm
In Summer, the Little Friends program offers care for one, 8-week session only. For summer 2018, the program begins on June 18. Due to the limited time for this session, Summer Little Friends is only available to existing students in Little Friends or other WSP programs, siblings and accepted students for the following school year. Please contact our Enrollment Coordinator regarding availability. Children do not need to use the Summer Little Friends Program to hold their spot for the following school year, but a small retaining fee may apply.
Please note that Little Friends is occasionally closed along with the school’s other programming during certain holidays and breaks. Please see the current school year calendar for Little Friends scheduled breaks.
