Little Friends

As a daily toddler childcare program, the Little Friends program brings the insight and experience of Waldorf education to the young child. Children are cared for in a mixed-age, family style setting. Daily activities focus on domestic activities such as washing, baking, crayoning, and storytelling with plenty of time for play, indoors as well as out. Unlike the pre-academic nature of the school’s Nursery and Kindergarten programs, the Little Friends program primarily emphasizes care in a nurturing environment away from home. This is a program for children ages 18 months – 3 1/2 years. The following options are available during the school year:

Half-day:

  • Mon-Tue, 8:00am-12:00pm
  • Wed-Fri, 8:00am-12:00pm
  • Mon-Fri, 8:00am-12:00pm

Full-day:

  • Mon-Fri, 8:00am-3:00pm
  • Mon-Fri, 8:00am-6:00pm

In addition, the Little Friends program offers care during two consecutive 4-week sessions during the summer with half-day care (8:00-12:00) and full day care (8:00-6:00). For summer 2015, Session I begins June 15 and Session II begins July 13. Contact the school’s enrollment coordinator to inquire about availability or to apply for summer Little Friends care.

Please note that Little Friends is occasionally closed along with the school’s other programming during certain holidays and breaks. Please see the current school year calendar for Little Friends scheduled breaks.

Please see the current Little Friends Parent Handbook for more in-depth information about the program.
