We are excited to support the 8th Grade Trip again this year by fundraising through bake sales and Forest Garden Sales. You might have sampled the delicious treats baked by the 8th graders and parents at the beginning-of -the-year events!
If you are new to the school, Forest Garden is the school’s pop-up store which offers items such as pencils, beeswax, crayons, silks, books and other supplemental materials that children find in school. During each sale, children are allowed to purchase baked goods and small items. All proceeds go toward the 8th grade trip at the end of the year!
This year, we will not offer large items during the school sales (typically during lunch/snack time and after school until 3:30). We will create an order form available at the Festival of Courage on September 25th, which will allow you to order items such as wooden shields, larger silks, felting materials, candles, art supplies and more. All items will be pre-paid and given to children and families at school by October 23rd. We will provide more orders during the year. 8th grade students will also be talking to younger students about the items and what they have found most useful and engaging over their years at Waldorf. Please look for these order forms to support the Grade 8 class.
The dates for the Pop-up Forest Garden Store are below. Please do not send large amounts of money to school with your children on the days of Forest Garden Bake sale/supply days (no more than 10.00). They will be able to purchase baked goods and small supplies during the day when the 8th graders open the Forest Garden Store, which is typically held in the chapel.
