Our School and Our Region

Currently serving approximately 200 students spanning ages eighteen months through eighth grade, the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh has offered Waldorf Education to the area since 1993. We currently hold Full Membership status from the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and Developing School status from the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). Since 2003, we have been located in a historic 140-year-old Victorian mansion on a two and a half acre campus in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood. The rest of the neighborhood is primarily residential with several vibrant business districts within a few blocks and a burgeoning arts scene along the adjacent Penn Avenue corridor. If you are unfamiliar with the area, the City of Pittsburgh remains a hidden treasure and is ranked number two in Forbes’ listing of most affordable cities. It has also been highly ranked as one of America’s most livable cities. Pittsburgh has a small-town feel packed with numerous colleges and universities, several corporate headquarters, a thriving arts and cultural community, and a number of large parks in and around the city. Within 30-45 minutes of the city are dozens of opportunities for hiking, biking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
