Summer Camp with WSP is back this summer! We will have a Kindergarten and Grades 1–5 camp from June 17th–28th.

Summer Camp
Infused with Waldorf philosophy and provides a nurturing, wholesome experience, Camp Waldorf provides a safe, caring environment that supports children in building a community of friends, exploring their many capacities as individuals, and encouraging interest in the world around them.
2024 Summer Camp
We are excited to offer a new summer program, open to Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our program will run June 17th through 28th from 8am–3pm. We will have a kindergarten program and elementary program, both with new and enticing experiences for all.
Kindergarten Camp
Our kindergarten camp is for children ages 3–7 who are currently enrolled in or will have just completed kindergarten in the 2023–24 school year.*
Kindergarten Summer Camp will parallel greatly to a day in Kindergarten at WSP. However, our two weeks are themed!
Dates/Themes

June 17–21: Week 1 will be Puppet Stories and Crafting, with lots of fun stories to listen to, puppet shows to watch, and even puppets to make together and bring home.

June 24–28: Week 2 will be Cooking and Baking Together, bringing in wholesome recipes to share with the whole family.
Session Options

Kindergarten will offer a half-day option from 8am–12pm, or a full-day option from 8am–3pm, with rest in between.

Parents can choose to enroll for just one week or both.
Meals
Morning snack will be provided and full day friends will need to bring lunch.
Pricing

$200 for Kindergarten Week 1 half-day 8am–12pm (4 days; no camp on Wednesday, June 19th)

$350 for Kindergarten Week 1 full-day 8am–3pm (4 days; no camp on Wednesday, June 19th)

$250 for Kindergarten half-day 8am–12pm (5 days)

$400 for Kindergarten Week 2 full-day 8am–3pm (5 days)
*Three year olds must be fully potty trained to attend.
Elementary Summer Camp
(Grades 1–5)
Our Elementary Camp is for children who completed grades 1–5 during the 2023–24 school year.
Elementary Summer Camp will be two weeks of enriching time spent in nature, making art, and enjoying days with friends.
Dates/Themes

June 17–21: Week 1 will be Art and Nature, with guest educator Sarah Louise joining us. Together we will learn about dye gardens, work on harvesting and preparing our plants to be used as natural dyes, and even dyeing our silks and garments! We will also take walking field trips around the neighborhood, learning about art in the many educational spaces that surround us.

June 24–28: Week 2 will be handwork, where we will hone our skills in sewing, knitting, and even have special demonstrations from our community partners.

Our Location
Waldorf School of Pittsburgh is located in the Bloomfield neighborhood of the city, housed in a Victorian-era mansion. A historic landmark, the school and its surrounding grounds take up the end of an entire city block. Our location lends itself well to our summer camp. We have large classrooms, a spacious auditorium, and nearly 3 acres of outdoor green space — well suited to house all of our unique camp activities. We are within walking distance to many gardens, parks, theaters, and more!
